Ingredients (8 servings):
- 375 g flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 60 ml vegetable oil
- 160 ml water
- Mix flour, baking powder and salt.
- Add the oil and the water and stir it with a fork till the dough clumps together.
- Place the dough on a table and continue kneading with your hands until it is smooth and pliable.
- Shape the dough into a ball, cover it with a towel (or wrap in foil) and let it rest for 15 minutes.
- Cut the dough into 8 equal pieces, depending on how big you want the tortillas to be.
- Dust each piece with some flour, shape into a ball and press it flat with the flat of your hand. Now roll out the flattened dough balls thinly with a rolling pin.
- Heat a pan with a little oil over medium heat. Fry the tortillas for 30-60 seconds per side until brownish spots appear.
- As soon as the tortillas are baked, it is best to wrap them in a clean towel immediately.
