Ingredients (8 pieces):

  • 300 g flour (wheat or spell flour)
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 120 ml water
  • 80 g yoghurt, curd cheese, soy curd
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp apple vinegar
  1. Mix flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
  2. Make a well in the middle and add water, yoghurt, olive oil and vinegar.
  3. Mix with a spoon and and then continue kneading the dough with your hands until a light dough is formed. Add more flour if necessary, but the dough must not get too dry.
  4. Then divide into 8 pieces. First roll out each flatbread with the rolling pin and finally pull it apart a little with your fingers so that it gets an „uneven“ surface. (This gives the flatbread the typical surface with many small bumps during baking.)
  5. Heat the oil in a pan over medium heat.
  6. Place the flatbreads in the pan and bake for about 3 minutes on each side or until they are lightly browned.
